Junior Singles

Saturday 13 July, 2024, the Petanque England Junior Singles Championships will be held at Leicester Petanque Club, Western Park, Hinckley Road, Leicester, LE3 6HX. Registration from 0915hrs, first boule at 1000hrs. We are grateful to the Leicester Petanque Club for hosting us.

Entrants must be members of Petanque England and should be under 18yrs throughout 2024. This is a dual gender event, girls & boys welcome It
is also an official Petanque England Championships. We have asked the Umpires Commission to provide an official for the day.

The format: After some consideration we have decided to use the group of six for the six girls taking part, this is purely to assist us in the selections we have to make sometime soon. In the other groups we will seed three players based on the recent Junior Doubles result, so Alex Read, Matthew Butcher and Nathan Huntley. The top two players from each group will go forward to the quarter finals; the remaining 10 players will play a three round snake for the Silver. All games will be to 13 points.

The reigning champion is Alex Moriarty with Aimee Rickman runner up. They will be hard to beat but let me encourage you to have a go.

There will be a Shooting competition held throughout the day, it is purely voluntary if you take part or not.  As we do not have any byes I would ask that you take part in the shooting as and when you have time between games, we are grateful to JJ Inkley who will run the shooting competition.

Catering will be available at the Club.  I understand a range of burgers, sausages, bacon rolls will be available, possible more.
