I hope all our members are well and are looking forward to the next stage of the Government’s steps to allowing our sport to return to play!
Last year we asked our members to provide the board with feedback through our membership survey. We had a great response and I thank all of you who took the time to give us your views.
This has been very insightful and as the data has been analysed, we believe that we are now at an important stage in the organisation’s evolution. With this in mind we propose to move forward as follows.
- Completing a robust strategic plan to grow and promote the sport over the next 5 to 10 years. This will focus on building from the grass roots upwards.
- Meet the minimum requirements of governance required by Sports England.
- Change the image of Pétanque England so that it becomes more attractive to Sponsors and Funders.
It is anticipated that this process will take 9 to 12 months and will commence with additional data collection allowing us to make informed decisions as we put the plans together.
A team of experienced individuals from within the organisation has been put together and will be led by Cary Bush and Toni Gates.
If there is anyone who would be interested in joining the team could they please forward their name to Cary at treasurer@petanque-england.uk
