Whitnash Windmill PC Juniors have just completed their first club junior league competition, which has been held over the past thirteen weeks, and the results were tight at the top. The League mimics the format of the club’s Senior League which has been running for many years. The Club holds four seasonal leagues, each thirteen weeks long, over the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and the best eight matches in each quarter are counted in the final results.
As can be seen from the below league table, attendance has been excellent, taking into account the seasonal weather, and all games have been played in a great competitive and friendly spirit. Only three players won the maximum scoring eight wins, with Jayden Davis (center in the photo) winning the Autumn League, taking the perpetual trophy, and a memento to keep. In close second was George Partridge (left) and Ayva Law (right) finished in third place.
In addition to the weekly junior league competitions, the Club will be continuing to hold internal junior competitions and championships and integrating them into our main senior club events, and we will be encouraging them to take part in the national junior coaching and competitions.
Whitnash PC is also planning to hold an Open Adult/Junior pairs competition on Sunday, 7th September, one week before the Inter-Regionals, and all juniors will be welcome to enter this event, so put this date in your diaries if you are interested.
All our juniors seem to thoroughly enjoy our beloved sport, and there is great camaraderie and friendships developing amongst them. It is a joy to watch them grow and share in their excitement and enthusiasm.
We strongly encourage all juniors who take part in competitions or training days to share their unique experiences with us. Your personal story could be the next one highlighted on our website, inspiring others in the community.
