The Muscliff Kids have had a busy week.
On Monday five juniors, Tristan, Aimee, Lewis, Alex & Matthew turned out for the Club in a Southern League match against Porchester – they were supplemented by a lone adult, Gilles. The weather was challenging, damp, then wetter and wetter through the evening but the kids did good. They took the opening Triples to six and nine. In the doubles Aimee & Matthew took an early lead but then fell back to 10-12 but with some good shooting and pointing they took a three to win, 13-12. Alex & Gilles were a long way behind but got their act together to take their game to eight. Lewis and Tristan suffered a narrow loss the the oppositions most experienced pair. Good play throughout.
Then last evening, Thursday 26.9.24, Aimee, Alex and Matthew turned out for the Club in the Plate final of the New Forest League. The junior triple were 1-7 and then 5-12 down before they put on a display of shooting (from Aimee) and pointing to take the match 13-12. In the doubles they were superlative – Aimee and Matthew fannied their opponents; Alex playing with Paula dominated, with Alex shooting and carreauxing a 9m boule, to win 13-1. The adults scrapped one more win to make it 4-1.
Tough competition, great composure and skills to win.
